It's a BOY!!!

Kyte and I are so happy to say.... we will be having a little BOY!! We both kinda had a feeling that it was a boy, but we didn't want to get too excited until we saw for sure. The 3-D ultrasound was so neat to see. He was very active and cooperated pretty quickly so that we could see "he" was a "he" :) His little legs were moving all around so we got several looks to see his little boy parts. I think Kytes response to it being a boy was something like "whew, I have a lot less to worry about" ha!


Most of you know that Kyte has a nervous habit of picking at his lip and I am constantly on him to stop. Well, this little guy had his hand up at his mouth for the WHOLE ultrasound!

To tell what we are having we decided to have everyone over and do a gender reveal party. Kytes dad catered an amazing dinner and then we played a little game to tell everyone boy or girl. We had bought both a "It's a boy" and "Its a girl" banner and after we found out that it was a boy we removed one letter from the "Its a girl" banner. We put all the letters from each banner in envelopes and then handed them out. We then told everyone to look in the envelopes and form the banners and the complete banner would tell them the sex. I had no idea how comical it would be to watch 14 adults work together to try and form these two short sentences, haha! After a few hectic minutes and some direction from Katie, they finally realized the girl banner was incomplete,but neither sentence was ever formed ha!. DJ Kyte then played the song he had picked out, "Let's hear it for the boy" and we put all our ultrasound pics up on the TV. "17" Week Check-up

We had our "17 week" (I am 16wks 2days) check up today and got to hear the little heart beat, beating away at around 150 this time. This visit was pretty short since everything is thankfully going well. We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound on June 6.

Being an impatient person, I decided that that date seems like eternity away, so I called and scheduled a 3-D ultrasound to find out the sex a couple weeks earlier on Monday May 23 :) We are going to do the 3-D at Vision of Life where a couple of my friends have also had them done. We will still be doing the big ultrasound at my regular doctors office so that we have the check on all the baby's measurements to make sure he/sure is healthy and growing as he/she should be.

Happy Mothers Day!!

Today marks 16 weeks and a beautiful Mothers Day! I am so blessed to have a wonderful Mom, Step-Mom, and Mom-in-Law in my life :) Yesterday I ran the Ramble Run 5k with my step-mom and step grandmother, meaning we had four generations taking part in the race!

The course was quite hilly and keeping my heart rate around 140 was definitely a challenge, but I finished!!

Now you are up to date with our baby journey. We have our "17 week" (I will actually be 16wks 2 days) check-up this Tuesday and will then schedule our sonogram to find out the sex, and yes, we for sure want to know what this little baby is :)

12 to 15 weeks

We went for our 12 week check-up on April 12th and saw our little gem's arms and legs beginning to grow. It no longer is resembling a bean but looking more and more like a baby :) Kyte and I find it fascinating to keep up with what is changing and growing with the baby in the pregnancy journal that my sister bought me. The heartbeat was around 160, right where it has been since the first time we could hear it. For my birthday my friend Candace gave us our first baby gift. This most adorable onesie...

I took my first bump pics at 14 weeks on Sunday April 24th..

This past week, during week 15, I had a "first". For the first time my favorite Citizen jeans wouldn't button, I had to break out a rubber band. Luckily I will be pregnant during the summer and able to wear dresses most days!

We are expecting!!!...past 2 months in review

My sister has been begging me to start one of these, so on Mothers Day I am feeling extra blessed and decided she might be right (for once.). So, here it goes! For those of you who don't know yet, Kyte and I are expecting a precious baby the end of October, due date is October 23. Yes, Kyte might be spending his 30th birthday in the hospital :). We found out in late Feb., below is a pic from the first ultra sound at 5.5 weeks and then one at 6 wks 3 days. We heard the little heart beating away at the 6 week appointment, such an amazing experience . We waited to share the news with our parents until we had our 9 week ultrasound and everything looked good. Below is a pic of that ultrasound and the delicious cupcakes that my sister made for the cookout when we broke the news.

We broke the news to them with our Allie girl. They all thought they were never going to have grand babies, only grand-pups so we thought it fitting that Allie tell them they were finally getting a grand baby. Here is her pic:
I have been incredibly lucky and felt great the whole way up to this point. In fact the day I took my first test, I ran the frost bite 10K in 56 mins, I have since ran the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k and just did the Ramble Run 5k yesterday.
