Hello Third Trimester

We brought in the the beginning of our third trimester with the Bele Chere 5k. This was my third 5k since being pregnant along with two 10k's :) I have been so blessed to be able to continue to work out and feel good. Kyte ran an awesome time in the race, 26:30!! After the race, we had our 28week 4-d ultrasound done. Below are some pics of our chubby cheek little boy. His heartbeat was 145. You can see he still has those hands up at his face and he was working on sucking on his thumb while we watched him. We also found out that he has turned and is now head down. So now to hoping that he stays there!

In this next one, you can see his little foot up at his chin. His feet are over on my left rib cage and I have definitely been starting to feel them more this week. I have to make sure and sit straight up, if I start to slump over he lets me know that I am cramping his space. My belly somtimes looks like an ocean when he moves around. I cant believe how active he is!

Look at those chubby cheeks! And I just love his cute little nose! Kyte and most of our friends that saw these pictures yesterday said that his profile favors me. We cant wait to be able to really see and hold him!!

I have my 28 week check up on Friday when I will be doing the glucose test, so please say a prayer that it goes smoothly and I pass with flying colors.

Making progress...

As I had stated in my previous blog post, my goal for the next few weeks was to get our spare closests cleaned out and organized so that our new addition would have room for his belongings. Well, we got a kick start on that when we got a call shortly after that blog post that our house was showing the following Friday. The spare bedroom was disaster, it had a crib, a day bed, two strollers and baby clothes strewn about it. So we spent that Thursday evening after work taking down the day bed and cleaning out the closets so we could put his clothes and strollers in them. Now the only thing left in his room is his crib :) a clean slate to start decorating! and his closet is becoming packed full of his own little things. My mom has been wonderful and started buying diapers for us in all sizes! My sister also mailed me a sweet little surprise, the first item purchased off our registry...this adorable Dr.Seuss bib with kites on it!

The above pic was taken last week, I think I was 25 wks 2 days in it. I am still feeling good, although I am starting to have periods of restlessness. I did have one night last week where he became so active when I laid down to go to sleep that I ended up not falling asleep for several hours. He was doing some marching on my left side and no matter how many times I rolled over or tried to move him, he kept at it. He finally settled down about 2am and I was able to get a few minutes of shut eye. I can definitely tell he is growing and getting stronger. Before I was able to drift off while feeling his little bumps of movements and now there is no falling asleep when he is active :) You can also see my belly move much more now when he moves. I was watching TV one night on the couch with my arm laying over my stomach and you could even see my arm moving as my belly moved, such amazing little expierences ;) I cannot believe I am already at 26 weeks with less than 100 days to go. We go back for the 4-d ultrasound in 2 weeks, on Monday, Aug 1, and we can't wait to see how much he has grown!!

24 week sonogram

We had a 24 week check-up yesterday to re-check the kidneys for this cute little man and all looks healthy and perfect for his "age" :) He was curled up in a little ball for the sonogram, you can see in the pic above that his fist is up at his face and below you can see his feet (they look huge!) are also up near his head. The nurse had a little trouble seeing the left kidney, so I had to roll on my left side to get him to move around a little bit so she could get a good shot.

He had been active since around 4:20am yesterday morning when he woke me up kicking around in there. He moved quite a bit during the sonogram, especially when I rolled over to my left side and turned his little world on its side. Below is his precious little profile..

In the pic above you can see his little tongue since he has his mouth open. All of my stats looked good at the visit and weight gain is at 9lbs. Our next visit will be on Fri Aug 5th, at which I will do the glucose screening test. Fun! I will be praying that I pass that test so I don't have to do the fasting for the glucose tolerance test :)

Who knew a tiny baby could need so much?!? Kyte and I did our registry last night at Babies "R" Us, and we would have been lost without Katie helping us. It took us over 2 hours even with her help and wonderful advice on everything that we will need. Kyte got really caught up in picking out the ExerSaucer, ha! He played in the aisle with them and paid special attention to which one little Koltin found more entertaining before he made his final decision and chose which one to scan. He also spent about 30 minutes in the glider section figuring out which one was more comfortable and of the best quality (I am pretty sure he plans on putting this in the living room to watch TV in). I am really excited over everything we picked out and to start really preparing for him to arrive. For the next few weeks, my goal is to clean all the junk out of our spare bedroom closets so that we can move all his little belongings in :)

4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July weekend marked the beginning of week 24! Again, I have no idea where the time has gone! As he grows I am starting to have some lower back pain. He seems to be carrying very low which is what I am assuming is causing the pain as my lower back works to support him. I am feeling him move on a daily basis now, some days much more than others but from what I have read, that seems to be normal for this time in the pregnancy. Of course I worry myself to death on days that I dont feel him quite as often. I go back tomorrow for a sonogram to double check his kidneys and make sure they are now where they should be for 24 weeks. When we went at 20 weeks, they were just above the margins set for that point in his growth. So prayers please for a healthy check up tomorrow :) Here are some pics from our busy weekend. The weekend started with a shower for Kendra, she is 7 weeks ahead of me:

We then celebrated at the annual West family July 4th party, which is always a great time!

On Sunday we headed to the lake to enjoy the beautiful day, ride around on the boat, and grill out.

On Monday we went to the lake, but thunderstorms set in so we headed home and had a productive evening. Kyte got our crib put together and I finished washing all the clothes I have collected so far and hung most of them up. (Please excuse the mess in the room and closet. We seem to be buying baby stuff and piling it in the baby room but not cleaning out the stuff that was already in the bedroom, haha!)

Thank goodness for friends with kids already!! Our friend Robert gave us the beautiful crib, which happen to be the exact one I wanted, and another friend, Tammy, has given me a lot of the clothes :)
