Looking back on One Month

I only thought the time passed by fast while I was pregnant, the past month since we had this little blessing has FLOWN by. Here are some highlights and things I want to remember when looking back.

-We had Taygan and brought him home on the same Thurs and Sat of Oct that Kyte was born and brought home on 30 years ago

-The way my heart over flows with joy when I see Kyte holding him. Taygan is a spitting image of his daddy and it is precious to see him in his daddy's arms.

-I say a little thank you prayer every time Kyte comes in the door from work each evening. We have a friend who is deployed and he has a 4 month old, so the fact that we spend every evening and weekend together has a whole new meaning to me. Thank you to all our troops who sacrifice so much!

-My sleep has become much lighter, I swear I can hear him make the slightest little moan, my eyes just pop open!

-We have both been peed on more times than I can count. And I have been pooped on more than once.

-We like to pretend that when he is rooting for his bottle that he is giving us kisses. I cant wait for the day he really does give me a kiss!

-He is starting to recognize mine and Kytes voice when we speak.

-I have found myself listening to him and trying to figure out all his little cries and noises.

-His neck is super strong. He likes to keep it raised up and looking around while we try and burp him.

-Kyte loves to work on his grip and pretend that he is doing a pull up :)

-He might be the nosiest baby ever when putting himself to sleep or burping. He grunts like crazy.

-I had another first mommy moment at the doctor today at his one month check-up, Kyte had him in the waiting room while I checked in, and with all the other babies crying, as soon as he cried I knew it was my baby.

-I have also become more thankful than ever for having my family close to me in the past month, we would not have made it through it without them!

At his one month check up he was 9lbs even and was 21 3/4 inches long. Doctor gave him all A's and said he would see us back at 2 months for the dreaded shot visit.

We thank you all for you love and support!! We couldn't be happier with this handsome baby boy!

Sunday Fun...Happy Halloween!

Kyte and I decided to have some fun with the belly bump, so we headed to Michael's this morning and get some face paint. Above is his finished product! I cant believe how good he did with the painting! This is not at all what my pumpkin would have looked like if I would have done the painting haha! Below are a couple pics of the work in progress...

Kyte got the biggest kick out of how much it really looks like I am holding a pumpkin...

The pumpkin bump at 38 weeks...ready for him to arrive ANY day now ;)

Happy Halloween!!!

"Full Term"

37 weeks, technically "full term" :) We had our weekly check up today and this little fella is still down LOW. At our check up last week, it was confirmed that his little head was as down low as I feel like it is. Dr. Pestoff actually commented and said she wasn't sure how I was sitting up straight. I was a just a finger tip dilated at that appointment, but good news is, is that he is head down and fully engaged. Today at our appointment, before Dr. Cobb did the "check" he measured my belly and was concerned for a brief minute that I wasn't measuring where I should be. He said that he hoped that Taygan was just so low that it was throwing off my measurement and sure enough HE IS. His comment was "you poor soul, this baby's head is awful low". After checking, he said he could just give me a little more than a finger tip as far as being dilated. My cervix is still towards the back and he said it may have a hard time coming forward due to the pressure the baby's head is already putting on it. So prayers please that it moves forward and begins to dilate so this little dude can arrive the way he should :) Here are our stats from the appointment yesterday at 37 weeks 2 days:
Weight Gain - 16lbs
BP - 100/60
Belly Measurement - 36 weeks, again due to him being so low
And his heartbeat was "perfect" according to Dr. Cobb. I had a pretty good idea that Taygan was down low from the pains I have been having throughout my pelvis. I can feel him move around very low and it is sometimes followed by a sharp, shooting pain. My hips are also starting to ache a little, hopefully that is because the dilation process is starting. I don't mind the pain as long as I know progress is being made, ha-ha! I am thankfully still sleeping pretty well, or as well as one can with 3 or 4 bathroom breaks a night.
We are getting so excited to meet him!! I cant wait to see what this little guy who kicks and rolls around in my belly ALL the time looks like. He is such an active baby! Dr. Cobb said that I feel a lot of his movements because my fluid levels are so good. I swear I feel him moving around just about every hour of the day, and he seems to be still at night when I sleep. I can only hope he stays on this schedule...prob wishful thinking I know.
We go back next Tuesday for our next weekly check-up, in the mean time I will be praying that my cervix moves to the front and begins to dilate so we can get this show on the road :) Taygan, Mom and Dad are ready to meet your sweet little face!!

Urban Maternity Photos

We did an urban maternity photo shoot downtown Asheville with Colleen Hannah on Sept 10. She did an amazing job and we cant wait for her to do Taygan's newborn photos!! I know most of you have already seen these, but I plan on cheating and just printing out his blog to do a scrapbook so I needed to do this blog post ;)

Still being showered...so blessed!!

We are just over the 35 week mark! Where is the time going?!? I am starting to feel some spells of the uncomfortableness that everyone has been warning me about. The little guy is definitely getting bigger and as he stretches and rolls around he is stretching my belly to the max. You can usually see which side his back and butt are against because he keeps them sticking out and my belly stays un-even. His little butt stays up in my ribs, which keeps me sitting up straight most of the time and when I do slouch he will roll around and sit me straight up. He gets the hiccups several time each day and has started to get aggravated when he gets them. I will often feel a hiccup and then feel him squirm. This is cute as long as it isn't at 3am, ha ha! I am also starting to feel some braxton hicks contractions. They seem to happen later in day and evening, my belly will contract and get super hard, but no pain with them....YET (as Dr. Councell so nicely reminded me of on Friday) I had my 34 week check up (I was actually 34wks 5 days) this past Friday, we are still healthy and growing as we should be :)
Weight Gain - 15 pounds
BP - 102/62
Belly Measurement - 35 weeks
Taygan's heartbeat was good and strong. We are so blessed to have had such a smooth road up to this point and pray that it continues :)
We have had two more showers since my last post and gotten so many wonderful gifts!! We can't thank all our friends and family for everything!! The pic below is from our family shower here in Asheville. Lisa had this cake topper and cupcakes made by Tiffany's Bakery in Candler, it was amazing and a perfect design for Kyte and I!! It had all our little puppies along with Taygan's bed, the detail was insane and it was all edible!

I cant wait to put him in this hat for some newborn pics!!!

Below is a pic of one of the most beautiful diaper cakes I have ever seen! Reid, Kyte's cousin made it for us for our shower in Rock Hill.

Kite cupcakes made by Marilyn :)

More "burrito blankets" to swaddle him in when he arrives.

BaBy PaRtY!!!

We had our first "shower" on Saturday, August 27. We decided instead of having a "baby shower" to have a c0-ed "Baby Party". How do you get guys to come to a shower? Call it party and have beer and tequilla. The pic above sums up how much fun we had :) The gift was adorable little car socks given to us by the Parkers who own Skyland Automotive, so fitting! The party was thrown by Candace, Jamie and Mate and they did a wonderful job with everything. The spread included a margarita bar, with precious drink recipes by Candace, virgin so we could partake in them as well :) Of course there was also the good stuff for those of us not expecting, ha! There was also a delicious Taco Bar catered by Kytes Catering :) And our AMAZING cakes! They were so beautiful that we didn't even want to cut into them. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening with all of our friends and we got sooooooooo many great gifts!!

32 Week Check Up

32 weeks!! Here are the stats from my check-up yesterday at 32 weeks and 4 days:

Weight Gain - 11lbs

BP - 100/60

Belly Measurement - 32 weeks

Taygan's heartbeat was between 140 and 150. While measuring my belly, Dr. Pestoff said "You are just full of baby!" Oh yes, how I know! He is definitely in cramped quarters in there and as everyone always reminds me, he is only going to get more cramped. I think I feel and see every move he makes, which is A LOT. He is still very, very active!! Sometimes he will move a certain way and I will have to adjust him to get his weight off my bladder or get him out of my ribs. We both continue to be very healthy so we will have our next check up in two weeks, on Friday the 16th. After that check up we will go for the 36 week check at which point the doctors will begin checking my cervix. I can't believe are almost to the end of this amazing journey!! I can only hope and pray that the next 7 (or less!) weeks are as enjoyable as the previous 32 :)

We had our first baby shower last Saturday and I will post a blog with pictures as soon as I get them. We had an amazing time!!

"30 week" check-up

On Friday, August 19th I went for my "30" week check-up, I was actually 30 weeks 5 days. These every two week check ups are really short (thankfully, since we are both healthy :)) but I usually end up waiting for longer than I see the doctor. Here are our stats as of last Friday:
Weight Gain - 10lbs

Blood Pressure - 92/62

Belly Measurement - 30 weeks

Taygan's heartbeat was healthy and strong. Dr. Jackson did ask how large Kyte and I were when we were born, Kyte was 6lbs 11ozs and I was 7lbs 1oz . He said Taygan was on track to be about the same size, def not too much bigger. Which is totally fine with me! He is still very active. Most anytime of day or night I can feel him bumping and moving around in there. I also believe I felt him have the hiccups for the first time this past Saturday. It was a very rhythmic sensation and lasted for about 10-15 minutes. I was eating at Brixx with Mom and Mate and she was able to feel him moving around with them. So crazy to think that there is a little person inside me with hiccups!

We have first baby shower this Saturday, or baby party as we have decided to call it, and cannot wait! I feel like a little kid counting the days down till Christmas :) Here is a cute pic of Louis (yes, he can be cute) in the baby rocker to end...

Beach Baby!

I honestly cant believe I am in my 30th week. Taygan seems to be getting more and more active. Kyte and I sat last night for about 30 mins and just watched him move around. He is getting a little cramped in there so some of his movements are becoming a tad painful for me. I am still feeling really well and sleeping good for the most part. I have restless nights here and there when I feel like I wake up every time I move and have to use the bathroom every hour. Getting to the gym for a good workout def helps me sleep better. Kyte and I have been doing spin on Monday evenings since before I knew I was pregnant and have managed to make it almost every Monday night since. We have been counting down spin classes left until D-day and we hit single digits this week...9 to go!

For the weekend of our 30 week mark we went down to Isle of Palms with Kyte's family. We rented a house from a friends cousin, which has an ideal location in Wild Dunes. Right on the beach and on the 18th hole of the golf course! We had an amazing time and can't thank Brandon and Amanda enough for the hook-up on the house :) It was perfect for all of us to get together at. Below is a pic of the whole family...

And a beach trip wouldn't be complete with out Kyte building a "drip" sand castle. He had a little help on this one from Skye and Rob.We have an old high school friend who happens to live in Charleston and do photography, so we took full advantage! Below are some of my favorite pictures from the shoot (sorry to those of you have already seen them on fb, most are repeats, but I love them :)). Friday night we attempted to do a sunset shoot, but the weather had something else in mind. We were given rain and wind , which happened to be perfect for flying a kite, ha ha! But, the next morning the skies cleared and we had a beautiful blue sky. Enjoy!

Again, a special thanks to Hendo Photography for these amazing photos!
