Beach Babes!

We are so lucky to have such good friends with a little one that is Taygan's same age. Friends that understand dinner may have to be at 5pm in order to have a baby that doesnt scream through it. Friends that understand it may be easier to order pizza for dinner and watch football at the condo than try to go out to eat, even if it's at 5pm.  It's hard to beleive how much our beach trips changed form Memorial Day to Labor Day.  We suddenly have babies that are turning into little boys.  Babies that dont just hang out, they want to be on the go.  They want to have their hands in the sand, and the sand in their mouths.  And we wouldn't change it for the world.
No more just sitting on blankets, these two were everywhere!

Using the furniture to navigate the condo.

Silly boys!

Our set up, thank goodness for the GoPod to contain at least one of them at a time.

Sweet boy, love that smile.

Looking to see what is getting his feet.

Not sure who is having more fun here, haha!

My boys!

big smiles with Daddy.

He loved sitting in the sand and waiting for the ways to come hit him.  He would clap for them haha!

I can't get enough of that toothy grin!  It melts my heart every time.

"What Dad? I swear havent been eating sand."

10 Months came Too Soon!

10 Months has come way too soon.  We are having too much fun and time is passing way too quickly.
-Big boy got his first haircut, below is his after pic:
-A 9 month old can have a very serious conversation with you, hand gestures and all, without you understanding a word.
-He is sleeping 11 hours a night.
-He sat himself up from laying flat for the first time.
-New foods introduced this month include tofu, cherries, strawberries, cheese, blueberry pancakes and muffins.
-Our lives changed forever on Aug 13.  He started crawling.
-Everything in the house has been baby proofed including the toilets.
-A lady downtown told us that this laugh/noise he does sounded like a billy goat.  We however think its the most adorable noise ever...listen for yourself.
-The hate he has for a walker is intense.  He cries as soon as you put him in it.
-We discovered this month that he can roll his tongue.  He will imitate you if you rolls yours.
-It's hard to believe that he and Cruz have went from sleeping babies in carriers to climbing on each other.
-His favorite thing to do is pull up on our coffee table.  Then stand there and leave precious little hand prints all over it.
-He learned how to wave. Here it is:
-Fresh fruit and string cheese is his favorite snack.
-Nap time turned into party time now that he can sit and pull himself up.
-He is such a ham when he sees the camera out.
-Mommy tries to remember to have him brush his teeth every morning and night.
-Daddy's blueberry pancakes are his favorite breakfast snack.
-I honestly never dreamed we would have this much fun with him, he is such a happy, happy baby boy.  And for that we are blessed!
-He and Kyte have the best time together, I will leave you with a collage of Kytes famed self portraits.  My two favorite men.

3/4 of 1

9 Months...and yes the 1st Birthday planning has begun :)  The past month has been an absolute blast with our little angel.  He is so full of life and smiles, it is such a joy to get to spend every day with him.
-No crawling yet, but he has figured out the position and we wake up every day thinking today is going to be the day.
-New foods introduced this month - grapes, blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower.
-He ran his first high temp, 102.6 at it's highest.
-While fighting his temp he began sleeping on his side and tummy.  For some reason this makes him look like such big boy to me ;(
-He started eating finger foods and loves cut up Mango!
-We took our first trip to the lake.
-If you put two fingers down in front of him, he will reach out and grab them and stand himself up
-He has attempted to pull up on the coffee table but hasn't made it all the way up yet.
-With his temp he let me rock him to sleep for the first time ever.
-His first word was "Da-Da" on June 26 and then "Ma-Ma-Ma" on June 27.  And melted our hearts.
-The life jacket is not his favorite thing to put on .  Ok, he actually HATES it.
-For some reason if Aunt Mate is staying in our other spare bedroom, he will wake up every hour during the night.  It's the weirdest thing.
-He enjoyed his first Popsicle! a 100% natural mango and pineapple one while watching his puppies play.
"Something on my face?"
-He loves to find his reflection.
-His new trick is sticking his tongue out and moving it around.
-He now loves the game "let's throw this in the floor and see how many times they will pick it up"
-We broke down and bought a "mom" camera.  Kyte now thinks he is a professional.
-Sitting him on the back deck to watch the dogs play will usually calm him down if he is upset.
-Tooth #6 finish making it's way in this month.
I CANNOT believe in 3 short months, he will be 1.  Where is the time going?!?

Baby Beach Bum

As I said in my 8 month blog, Taygan had his first trip to the beach on Memorial Day weekend and then we went to Wild Dunes for a week and then drove up to Cherry Grove for a day with Mimi and Pop. Here are some pics from his days on the beach.

Can't get enough of those little baby feet!! So precious.

Lunch time on the beach and Taygan wants some of whatever Harper is eating.
Aunt Mate came to get some loving for the day.
This pic just makes me smile.

 Being tourist in Downtown Charleston

 Dinner at Poe's.

Getting some sweet kisses from Harper.  Sweet babies.

 Practicing picking up his puffs.

Heading out to dinner with Mimi and Pop.
 Tan boys on Father's Day.

8 Months

We are two thirds of the way through the first year.  I am not even sure how that is possible.  This past month went by so fast, I am sure there are already things I have forgotten but here are some highlights:
-Tooths 3, 4, and 5 have broken through the gum and number 6 is bulging.
-Taygan had his first trip to the beach; and he loved it!
-Making a clicking sound with his tongue is his new trick.
-He will now give himself a kiss in the mirror when he sees his reflection (and this melts my heart).

-Yes, he still loves his bath time.
-He evidently doesn’t mind the taste of sand because he ate it more than once.

-His recognition of separation has set in.  He will now cry for about 10 secs when you leave the room but then finds a toy to entertain himself with.
-Our friends from Dallas came in with their 9 month old for a 10 day vacation and we spent a wonderful relaxing week at Wild Dunes.
-New foods introduced this month include yogurt, apples, and watermelon.
-Kyte and I learned from the vacation that we could not have Taygan sleep in our room on a regular basis; he is a noisy little sleeper.
-Getting a 9 month (Harper), 7 month (Taygan), and 6 month (Cruz) old to put themselves to sleep under a 10x10 tent on the beach is tricky but was accomplished more than once while in Charleston. They are all 3 asleep in the pic below, and yes Cruz is in that yellow sleeper and was able to breath under that blanket :)
-I can’t say specifically where he is ticklish because I think it is every inch of his body.
-We started giving him solid “solids” in the form of Puffs.  And he immediately picked one up on his own and put it in his mouth (yay for good motor skills!).
-He gagged when he felt the puff in his mouth the first time, he is not a fan of the texture of a solid substance (unless it’s sand) but we are working on it.

-Kyte got to celebrate his first fathers day at the beach.  Taygan is one lucky boy to have such an awesome Dad.
-Not really any attempt to crawl yet, but he is able to stand and put pressure evenly on both feet.
I can't wait to see all the changes that happen in the next month.  I was walking at 9 months, I don't think Taygan will quite be there but we will probably be some kind of mobile in the next few weeks.  Bring on the baby proofing of the house!
