Swim Time!

We decided to start Taygan in swim lessons so that he would be ready for our summer trips to the beach and lake, so today was his first class! He loves bath time so we knew he would have a blast in the pool. Here are some pics and videos of his first time in the pool and underwater...

6 months...gone by too fast!

Not sure how it happened, but Taygan turned 6 months old last week, he is growing so fast!  He has been such a healthy boy, and for that we are blessed.  Here are his stats from his check up today:
Weight - 16lbs 14ozs
Height -26 1/2 inches
-Foods we introduced this month: Sweet Potates, Avocados, Acorn Squash, Pears, and Bananas.
-When he doesnt like a food, he won't just make a bad face, he gags himself.  He will take the first bite, but if I try to sneak it in again he gives it back to me.
-Pears and Avocado are his favorite, Acorn Squash is not.
-His favorite time of day is still bath time.  We have now added some toys into it since he can sit up in the tub almost unassisted, and he loves to grab at them and watch them float.
-His feet are his favortie chew toy, and if he can't get them all the way to his mouth he will just pull his sock halfway off and chew on it.
-The doctor said at his appointment today that his top two teeth are bulging and ready to come through any day.
-He is getting better and better at sitting up on his own.
-G-Mama kept him for our first night away.  He of course did perfectly fine and gave us a super big grin when we came back home that Sunday.
-He loves for me to take his boppy out on the back deck so he can sit and watch Allie and Jackson.
-He hasn't gotten in the crawl position yet, but when he sees a toy he wants just out of his reach he will attempt to reach for it and scoot to it (if he doesn't face plant first while reaching ha!)
-The rollover from back to tummy happened on April 18th.
-He still loves to sleep on his back.
-When he gets excited, he does what Kyte has termed "clutch foot", he kicks his left foot repeatedly.  And just the left one, ha-ha!
-He has learned how to bounce in his jump-n-jive and has the cutest little expressions while doing it especially if someone is encouraging him.
To close, a video of Taygan doing a little dance with his "clutch foot" Enjoy!

Bouncing Around

I wanted to share this video I posted on our youtube channel, where Taygan finally figured out how to bounce and twirl around in his jump-n-jive.  And of course he lets a few of his favorite high pitch squeals.   Here is another one of him lying in the floor laughing.
He won't laugh if he sees us with the video camera out, he just wants to stare at it, so one of us has to make him laugh while the other secretly records.  In this video you can't really see his face since he blocked it with his arm while I was trying to sneak and record him, haha! Enjoy :)

Best Friends!!

 Look at those studs!!
Taygan is so lucky to have so many friends so close in age to him!!  With all of us having such busy and crazy lives we have started doing a lunch/dinner with all the kiddos at least once a month to get them together.  It is insane how much they grow and change in just 30 days or less. The next challenge is to try and get a pic of all of them together before anyone leaves or has a break down b/c its nap time.
Just a quick flashback of Cruz and Taygan, Cruz is 1 week and Taygan is 5 weeks.

The first get together I managed to only get a pic of these 3.  Koltin 12 months, Rowan 6 months, and Taygan 3 months.

Above is also a group shot from our second get together in Feb. Almost all of the kids on the couch haha!

Below is Koltin loving on Taygan from this past month’s get together.  Such sweet boys! Koltin is 15 months and Taygan is 5 months.  And Taygan and Cruz, 4 and 5 months. And a group shot!

Taygan is growing up too fast; here he is playing like a big boy with Koltin and Rowan. And then Taygan and Cruz celebrating the fact that they will have a younger girlfriend to chase after. Our friends Amanda and Brandon will be welcoming their baby girl in Aug!

5 Months...growing too fast!

No way are we closing in on half a year.  I cannot believe that our little guy is 5 months old today. The past month has been an absolute blast with him; he is such a happy little guy.  The sheer joy on his face whenever he sees you is one of the greatest gifts from God.  Here are some of the highlights from the past month.
-Kyte and Taygan got to have guy time while Mom was away in Charlotte for work for 5 days, and they both survived!
-We officially started brushing his “teeth”.  He has the bottom two but I know by the way he gnaws on everything and drools that more aren’t far behind.

-He rolled over for the first time on Feb 24!!  Thank goodness I got it on video because he has only done it a couple times since then.
-Most of the time he wakes up extremely happy.  A huge blessing!
-We started cereal on Saturday March 10 and his face was hysterical when he felt it in his mouth.  He has since decided he likes it a little more but would rather just have his bottle.
-No one can make him smile like his daddy.  I am not sure why he looks just like him and is a daddy’s boy L Aren’t boys suppose to look like their moms and be mama’s boys???
-He is starting to enjoy the airplane game and will smile real big when you hold him up over your head.
-He still LOVES his bath time with his daddy.  Kyte will now take him out of his seat and hold him all the way down in the water.  Taygan will float and kick around with just his face above the water.
-On Mar 17 we started giving him water out of a sippy cup with a straw.  It only took him about 2 days to figure out how to suck the water up through the straw.
-He has “found his feet” sometimes we will find him just lying in bed playing with them after he wakes up from a nap.
-We took advantage of this summer like weather and had our first run in the BOB jogging stroller…he loved it!
-He is wearing mostly size 6 month clothes, especially in Carters.  Some of the gap 3-6 month still fit him.
-We now have to strap him onto the changing pad, he could def roll off of it if he wanted to.
-He is very quick to follow you as you move about the room now and will get super excited when you make eye contact with him.  He is adorable the way he kicks, moves his arms, and smiles when he is happy.
-He is a very good traveler.  He will usually fall asleep in the car but if he doesn’t he just happily plays with the toy on his car seat.  He loves his day trips with his Mimi and G-Mama J
-He has become very good with his hands and will grab anything that you hold in front of him.  He can also hold a toy and take it to and from his mouth to chew on it.
-During one bath this month he grabbed Kyte’s hand when Kyte had a full cup of water and he dumped the water all over his face, which scared him to death for a second! Kyte picked him up and held him for a minute then he began smiling and continued to enjoy the rest of his bath.
-He had his first ride in his stroller out of his carrier.  Such a big boy!

4 months

We have been told that 4 to 6 months are the most enjoyable.  And I must say it is off to a pretty amazing start.  His little squeals of pure joy are priceless.  Here are some of the things I want to remember from the past month…
-He weighs 14lbs and 13.5ozs (and for my sister who thinks he is a chubby baby, you weighed 18.6 lbs at your 4 month check-upJ)
-He is 25 ¼ inches long.
-He woke up with a bottom left front tooth on Sunday, Feb 19!!
-Today while screaming from his shots, I could see his bottom right tooth about to break through.
-Each morning after his first bottle, we do tummy time and watch Chuggington and then Mickey Mouse clubhouse before I go to work.
-He is such a morning person and loves to see his Mimi or G-Mama arrive to keep him, he usually greets them with a big smile and a squeal.
-His first nap of the day is in our bed, he looks so tiny in it and it is the most precious thing to see.
-Bath time with his Daddy is his favorite time of day.  He loves to kick in the water!  We have signed him up for swim classes starting April 28.
-He spent his first day away at his Mimi and Pops house and was a little angel (not that I expected any less, ha!)
-While we eat dinner, he swings in his swing and thinks it hilarious when we spin around in the bar stools to see him.
-He managed to do a complete 180 one night.  When I went to get him up the next morning his feet were where his head started out the night before.
-He has figured out that when lying alone in his pack-n-play or on the floor with his mobile, if he does this really loud fake cry/yell, that someone will come to check on him and when he sees you he gives the biggest grin.
-Mate came to see him and randomly sang Miley Cyrus “Party in the USA” and he found it to be pretty funny.
-He can almost turn over, but not quite.  However, I am not ready for the middle of the night wake-ups when he gets turned over and then can’t get back to where he wants to be.
-We now have to make sure he is strapped in his swing, he gets really excited and I am pretty sure would kick himself right out of it if he wasn't buckled in.
-As you can see in the above pic, he has started to be amused by his reflection and loves to smile and laugh at it.
I can’t wait for the months ahead as his little personality continues to develop.  He is such a little blessing!
